Doubt

“There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that kills.” – Buddha
Doubt is a habit that I must work on constantly. I have a wonderful wife, great children and a job that I love. I have been truly blessed. What else could a man want? That’s when doubt creeps in. I sometimes feel I don’t deserve all my blessings. I am not worthy enough. When I have these thoughts, I get lost in a world of the imagination. My focus is on the what if… and not on the what is… If I get lost in this false fantasy I miss the reality of this present moment.  Today, I choose to focus on the present moment.

My students are like the lotus blossom

“My students are like the lotus blossom.
They rise up from the mud of the swamp.
They grow up through its murky waters.
They penetrate the air and aspire towards the light of the sun.
They bloom into great beauty despite their dark environment.
My students are like the lotus blossom.”

Preston Morgan

Today, I choose to see all that is beautiful within my students.
